Fresh Farm Eggs
Our First Eggs = Pasture-Raised = Farm Fresh = Farm Pickup
Our young hens are laying their first eggs, and we're excited to share them with you.
These early eggs are smaller than a typical large grocery-store egg because our hens are still young. They're perfectly good eggs—just part of the natural process of a young hen beginning to lay.
Our hens spend their days outdoors on pasture, scratching, foraging, and doing what chickens naturally do. They're also fed certified organic grain and cared for with daily attention and stewardship.
We collect our eggs daily and make them available fresh from our flock here at Sunset Farmstead.

FARM PICKUP ONLY

Why $3?
Our hens are young and are currently laying pullet eggs, which are naturally smaller than the eggs they’ll produce as they mature. We’re offering these first eggs for $3 per dozen while our flock grows into full production.
Why Our Eggs Are Different?
These eggs didn’t travel hundreds of miles before reaching your kitchen. They’re collected from our own flock, right here at Sunset Farmstead. Our hens are raised on pasture with room to scratch, forage, dust bathe, and experience natural behaviors. They’re supplemented with certified organic feed, fresh water, grit and oyster shell. We’re raising our flock slowly and naturally, and these first pullet eggs are simply the beginning.
What are pullet eggs?
Pullet eggs are the first eggs laid by young hens as they begin producing. They’re typically smaller than the eggs produced later in a hen’s laying cycle. These are the very first eggs from our young flock, and we’re excited to share them while we watch our hens grow into full production.

Share the Harvest
Fresh eggs should feed people, not go to waste.
As our young hens ramp up production, we don’t want that good food to go to waste. Sunset Farmstead donates fresh eggs to Northeast Community Fund in Decatur, helping provide nutritious food to local families.
You can help us share the harvest, too.
